Qualifications and Experience:

I am a native American, also fluent in Dutch. I received Bachelors and Masters Degrees in English at universities in the United States and taught high-school English in Pennsylvania. For several years I worked for a publisher in the Netherlands as editor of English manuscripts on linguistics and biology. I have written, translated (Dutch to English) and edited articles, books, dissertations and essays on art, philosophy and various medical subjects; translated websites on photography and bio-energy, a teaching workbook for elementary education and chapters of a book on discussing faith with teenagers; made subtitles for documentaries on artists, individuals caught up in the effects of war, and environmental issues.

As one of the organizers of International Café (www.internationalcafe.nl), an organization offering hospitality to international students, I have enjoyed rich contacts with people from many cultures. I also enjoy discussing and working with them on their theses or helping them with applications for internships and jobs. I am a member of SENSE, a Society for English Language Professionals.
